Two closed-cell rubber covered wheels that carry abrasive belts (coarse & fine) apply controlled pressure to the knife blade.
The grooves in each section hold the knife at a 15 degrees angle giving you a perfect cutting edge, which is impossible when using a steel.
The blade is sharpened in the coarse section and polished to a razor finish in the fine.
Sharpen all knives, cleavers, even serrated knives can be sharpened perfectly.
Uses the same belts as the KE-3000 and the KE-280
The Nirey KE-500 is also known as the Fischer 75702 knife sharpener.
